It's the last push before elections and it's busy at the Democratic Party's headquarters on Poplar Street.

Bibb County Democrats rolled out the phone banks and pounded the pavement. They hope to canvas three polling precincts before elections and the first stop is Rutland One.

"We've noticed that there's a group of people there that have not voted and we don't have phone numbers there where we can call and knock on those doors," says Chairman Sarah Hunt.

Godfrey and East Macon are also on the list. The group rallied volunteers to make calls and also schedule rides for voters.

"We're getting the information and we're assigning them to a driver so they can start picking them up Tuesday morning, taking them to the polls," says Hunt.

Hunt says she lined up 12 cars but will have at least 25 on election day.

Volunteer, Joann Payne, took to the streets in a different way.

"We're voting for Obama to be able to make things right," says Payne.

Each of her six grand kids held up handmade signs to support President Barack Obama.

Hunt and Payne volunteered time for a bigger cause and to get one message across.

"Your vote counts, your vote is power," says Hunt.
