This week's My Teacher Is Tops winner is Beverly Williams. She is a middle school Math teacher, and students said that she knows how to make arithmetic fun.
Williams has been a teacher for eight years. But she said when junior journalist Ivia Rollins came in through the door, she was taken aback.
"I can't even describe it, it's just, indescribable," said Williams.
Virdaryal Thomas nominated Williams for the honor. She said she knew Williams was tops because she cares about all of her students.
"I like your class like a lot," said Thomas. "I wanted to let her know. And I want to be more, I want to like become more in her class."
"When I heard her (Thomas) read the letter I wanted to cry," said Williams. "Sometimes it doesn't feel like I'm doing my best but when I hear, when I heard her read the letter that let me know that someone is listening."
Students said that she uses computer games to teach them difficult math concepts.
"I like it more because when you teach it fun, it helps you understand more," said Alia Hughley.
But Williams said she hopes that students take away that through determination they can conquer both math and other life problems.
"With math you got to keep going until you get the answer," said Williams. "You keep going and that's what I'm trying to instill in my students."
