Twenty cooks put their skills to the test at the Georgia National Fair for the Karo Corn Syrup Perfect Pie Contest.
From cocoa oat pies, to mini pumpkin pies, and pastries of all kinds were entered by contestants.
The pies were judged on appearance, taste, and texture.
Joyce Jones, who volunteered for the contest, said that folks showing off their "pie making pride" may be the best part of the competition.
"Everybody is excited about their pies and showing of their creativity and texture," said Jones.
Holly Gramling won first place with her pineapple refresh pie, and she took home $150. Second place went to Delaine Crutchfield and third to Karen Slaughter.
