ATLANTA (AP) - Governor Nathan Deal is expected to attend a ceremony celebrating the partnership between Georgia and the U.S. Department of Defense to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
Georgia Department of Veterans' Services officials say a ceremony Deal is scheduled to appear at in the North Wing of the State Capitol will formalize the partnership Thursday morning.
Deal is expected to issue a proclamation recognizing the partnership and will ask Georgians to participate in recognizing the 50th anniversary by thanking veterans who fought or died in the war.
