GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - An 18-year-old has voluntarily issued a statement voluntarily issued a statement that he may have been involved in a hit-and-run boating accident on Lake Lanier that sent two people to the hospital.
A spokeswoman for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the teen and his father went to the Hall County Detention Center to issue a statement. The son admitted hitting something but said he did not see or hear anything, DNR spokeswoman Melissa Cummings said Sunday.
The victims were in a See-Doo jet boat at the time of the accident Friday. Both victims, whose names were not released, were in stable condition at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
DNR officials said Sunday the investigation is ongoing and they could not confirm any arrests.
