MORROW, Ga. (AP) - Students at Clayton State University are being given two opportunities to participate in community service during their spring break.
University officials say groups of students will be taken to Memphis, Tenn. And Biloxi, Miss. during the week of March 2 to participate in Alternative Spring Break community service projects.
Students traveling to Mississippi will focus on water protection and conservation. The group will navigate the Mississippi River by boat and on foot to remove debris that is polluting the waterway.
The group traveling to Biloxi is set to focus on early childhood education by volunteering with pre-school children at Head Start and Early Head Start centers in the area.
Clayton State University is in Morrow, about 15 miles south of Atlanta.
