HAMPTON, Ga. (AP) - Georgia Department of Corrections officials say an inmate who escaped his work detail program has been recaptured.
Authorities say 50-year-old Steven Bone fled his work detail program at 12:12 p.m. Tuesday and was recaptured by Clayton County Sheriff's officials without incident just after 2 p.m.
Department of corrections officials say Bone was working at Lovejoy Regional Park in Hampton and a statewide lookout was in effect while he was on the run.
Lovejoy Middle School and Lovejoy High School in Hampton were locked down while authorities searched for Bone.
According to department of corrections records, Bone was arrested in December of 2002 for cruelty to an elderly person. Bone was also arrested in October 2001 for making terroristic threats.
