ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Richard Sumichrast, dean of the University of Georgia business school, is stepping down for a position at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

The Athens Banner-Herald (http://bit.ly/VTzFPI) Wednesday reported Sumichrast will begin his new job as dean of the Pamplin College of Business on July 1. Sumichrast worked at the school for nearly 20 years before leaving to work as dean of the business school at Louisiana State University.

The newspaper reports he has worked as dean of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia since 2007 and is the fifth UGA dean to step down in less than a year.
