BUFORD, Ga. (WXIA) -- The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested Michael Thomas Clark, 22, who they believe murdered a man near the Mall of Georgia Wednesday afternoon.

At around 5:30 p.m., police said they went to Appaloosa Lane to investigate reports of gunshots. Officers found 19-year-old Trevon Watson laying dead on the ground, along with marijuana. They have informed Watson's family.

After finding Clark, detectives said they found out he was an acquaintance of Watson. Officers of the GCPD arrested Clark that night and charged him with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Clark is in custody without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
