A 15-year-old male Westside High student was arrested Thursday after a staffer saw a gun tucked into the waistband of his pants.
According to a release from Bibb County Schools, at 11:50 a.m. a school official saw the student at the rear of the school in the student parking lot. The student lifted his shirt to show the firearm and made a threatening remark. The school official reported the gun immediately.
The school was put on emergency lockdown at 11:53 a.m. Campus police responded and arrested the student.
The school was moved to a preventive lockdown at 12:30 p.m., which allows more movement throughout the building.
The 15-year-old is charged with multiple felony counts. The incident is under investigation by the Bibb County Campus Police Department.
