Vineville Academy in Macon is always pushing its students to learn in a creative environment.

Their curriculum got even more colorful today, with a visit from children's book illustrator Michael P. White.

"I want to give them that confidence," said White. "I want to show them that the little chicken on a piece of paper they're drawing, is as good as Dr. Seuss or as good as any illustrator out there."

White has illustrated for a few children's books, but he claims he has painted over 30,000 airbrush works.

Some of his better-known projects include "Harriet's Horrible Hair Day," and "The Library Dragon," which was written by Atlanta's Carmen Agra Deedy.
