With the 30-day term for acting superintendent Susanne Griffin-Ziebart about to run out, the Bibb County Board of Education formally announced their interim superintendent search will end April 12.
The district also called a board meeting for Monday morning. That meeting will go into a closed, executive session to discuss personnel matters, future acquisition of property and/or pending litigation.
The board may then choose to extend Griffin-Ziebart's term until an interim superintendent can be chosen. But any action based on discussion in the closed session will be voted on publicly.

On March 7, the board hired the Georgia School Boards Association to assist their search for a new superintendent. According to a district news release, GSBA will also help the board with the search for an interim.
The GSBA is charging the district a $10,000 flat fee, plus travel expenses for its representatives to visit throughout the process. The board asked GSBA cap the cost at $1,500 with their approval required if more is needed.
Applicants for the interim position are supposed to contact GSBA directly, not the Bibb school board, by 4:30 p.m., April 12.
