Wednesday was Tie Day at Rosa Taylor Elementary in Macon, which was fitting because 13WMAZ also came to celebrate this week's top teacher.
Della Jolly has been teaching for 22 years and is a Pre-K teacher at Rosa Taylor.
Her 4-year-old students mix painting and playing with learning how to read and write.
One of her students, Gregory McLin used what he learned to write her a letter, which said, "My Teacher is Tops because she is the nicest teacher in the world. I love Mrs. Jolly."
Junior Journalist Aman Boricha-Masand was on hand to surprise Jolly in her classroom. She says she wasn't only honored, but also proud at how well her 4-year-old student wrote the letter.
She says she plans on having the letter laminated.
In addition to being "the tallest person in the room," Jolly says she likes teaching pre-K because "they're smart, ready to learn, and love their teacher."
