When Junior Journalist Reese Waters walked into Mrs. Griffin's Kindergarten class at Porter Elementary in Macon, she didn't know what to say. She was excited but confused, asking her students, "Thank you so much! Who did this? Do you know?"

Jaylan Johnson sent 13WMAZ a letter to nominate her teacher for the 'My Teacher is Tops' award. She said, "My teacher is the best teacher of all 'cause she makes it fun to learn."

Jaylan certainly wasn't the only one in her family that was a fan of Mrs. Griffin. Jaylan's mom also a letter to Mrs. Griffin, and she was thankful to receive the letters.

"It's so nice to receive letters like this, because so many times we hear things negative. And positive things just make you feel so good. It's nice to be patted on the back every now and then."

The students also had nothing but positive things to say about Mrs. Griffin.

Rosie Pearson called her teacher her hero. Jaylan said she learned all of her letters from Mrs. Griffin, while Carson Ikner recited all of the letters he had been taught.

Mrs. Griffin is always there for her students and thanks the teachers she had growing up at Bellevue Elementary. Those teachers of hers laid the groundwork and inspiration for Griffin's own classroom to be a positive environment.
