The new president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference urged Warner Robins leaders to work together.
Reverend Howard Creecy, Jr. spent Tuesday meeting with city leaders.
At Tuesday night's council meeting, Mayor Chuck Shaheen gave Creecy a key to the city.
Creecy said he came to Warner Robins at the invitation of council member Daron Lee and Redevelopment Agency Director Gary Lee.
Creecy urged all city leaders to cooperate. He said, "I talked with them about the importance of being intentional, about having a sense of oneness in this community. We may have come to this city on different boats, but were on the same ship now."
Creecy spoke to the Warner Robins Rotary Club earlier in the day.
He became the SCLC's national president this month.
Martin Luther King, Jr. founded the civil rights organization in 1957.
