A few military families at Robins Air Force Base will get a chance to spend their summer days on the beach.
Jaime Allison, a mother of three, received a summer season pass.
"This was just a great opportunity for the kids to get out, play together, spend some time, me and the kids while he's gone," she says.
Allison's husband is a deployed airman at Robins Air Force Base.
As a way of thanking military families for their service, The Macon-Bibb Chamber of Commerce teamed up with Lake Tobesofkee to give away 100 summer passes.
The county is spending $1,500 on passes so immediate family can enjoy all of Lake Tobesofkee whenever they want.
"That's money that we're just not going to get but this is something the commissioners feel very strongly about," says Doug Furney, Lake Tobesofkee director.
Passes will first be distributed to airmen deployed within the year, then to airmen stationed at the base.
