Anne Beck's Broccoli Cheese Soup

2 T chopped onion
1 T butter
1 cup chicken broth
1 package (10ounces) frozen broccoli and cheese sauce thawed
½ cup cooked long grain rice
¼ cup heaving whipping cream
In a small saucepan cook onion in butter until tender. Stir in broth and thawed broccoli and cheese sauce. Bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 4 minutes.
Add rice cream, cook 3-4 minutes longer until heated thoroughly, do not boil.
Makes 2 servings and can be easily double, etc.
