Japanese Steak and Rice

Junior Cattleman Joel Noles joined us on Eyewitness News Midday to cook up Japanese Steak and rice for Georgia Beef Month.

2 lbs sirloin steak
1 egg
1/2 stick butter
3/4 cup Teriyaki sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup ginger sauce
1/8 cup oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
4 cups instant rice

Cut meat into bite size pieces.
Turn on stove to medium to high heat.
Add oil and meat in skillet.
Cook until desired darkness and drain off juices.
Add Teriyaki sauce and ginger sauce to skillet and evenly coat meat.
Turn stove down to simmer level.
Plate meat after simmering for 2 minutes.
Pour rice into same pan on high heat and follow cooking directions on the box.
Add butter and egg and scramble into rice.
Cook until rice begins to brown, and add pepper.
Serve immediately after rice is done, and place steak on top of rice.
