Penelope the Pig Cake

Ingredients:

1 box yellow cake mix

1 can ready to spread pink frosting 16oz
2 green gumdrop fruit slices cut in half length wise
2 yellow or white gumdrop fruit slices cut in half length wise
1 red gumdrop fruit slice cut in half length wise
2 red gumdrops cut in half
2 purple gumdrops cut in half
2 purple gumdrops
Thin stick pretzels
Rope or string licorice if available

Preparation

Mix cake and bake in one 9 inch round pan, one 6 inch round pan and 2 custard cups

Cool cake and remove all from pans and cups; put the 9 inch onto wire rack with wax paper under it, then 6 inch on top of 9 inch and 1 of the custard cups (snout) on top of the 6 inch. Cut the other custard cup one in half vertically and place at the bottom of the cake for feet.
In a small sauce pan melt the frosting over low heat. Pour melted frosting over the cake evenly starting at the snout.
Decorate the cake by studying the picture.
Press green fruit slices with sugar dipped glass bottom then use kitchen shares to form ears.
Flatten yellow fruit slice the same way to use as eyes and top with ½ of purple gumdrop.
Use two red half gum drops on the pig's snout.
Take red gumdrop slice and flatten with sugar covered glass bottom and then cut one half to resemble the upper lip with kitchen shears.
Stick pretzel stick in 2 purple gumdrops and insert in feet.
Use pretzel cut in fourths for eye lashes if string licorice is not available. If available wrap one piece of the sting licorice around a pencil and put in oven for 5 minutes at 325 degrees then cut for eyelashes.
Tail use 7 inches licorice and curl the top. If not available use a pipe cleaner.
Stand back and let your guests think it took hours to make this cake!.
