ATLANTA (AP) - Actress America Ferrera is set to speak at Georgia State University.
Best known for her role as the title character on the ABC sitcom "Ugly Betty," Ferrera will be the final speaker in the university's Distinguished Speaker series. The event on Monday at 3 p.m. is free and open to the public.
The school says Ferrera was chosen to participate in the speaker series because of her success as an actress and her commitment to youth empowerment. She will also be the first Latina speaker in the series' five-year history.
After her lecture, Ferrera will engage in a question-and-answer session with students, faculty and staff.
