The Medical Center of Central Georgia has made some major changes among top personnel since Dr. Ninfa Saunders took over as president and CEO.

Hospital spokesperson Janie Poulnott told 13WMAZ in January that longtime Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Joe Lavelle would be leaving in search for "other opportunities" in  hospital adminstration.

Poulnott said a replacement would be considered at a later date.

And this week, Poulnott confirmed our requests seeking information about the departures of two other top officials.

Poulnott said that as of March 19, Judy Paull would no longer serve as Chief Nursing Officer and Tracey Blalock will serve as Interim CNO.

According to an e-mail from Poulnott, the hospital announced on March 21 that Dr. Jim Cunningham, Chief Medical Officer was no longer serving in that capacity and Dr. Fady Wanna would serve as Interim CMO.

As of late Tuesday night. no other information was available about their departure or plans for possible permanent replacements.

Since October, 13WMAZ has been seeking an interview with the new CEO Ninfa Saunders.

Officials in the Medical Center Public Relations division have said Saunders will not conduct interviews with the media until April, after her retreat with top management officials.

The Medical Center is Bibb County's largest employer and Georgia's second-largest hospital, with more than 4,600 employees and nearly 600 doctors.
