The Jay's HOPE Foundation hosted a bone marrow donor drive today on the campus of Central Georgia Technical College from 12 to 4 p.m.
Volunteers helped sign up possible donors by taking cheek swab samples and having them fill out paperwork.

"Well, I've donated blood in the past.  I have also donated platelets, and I feel like it's a minimally-invasive way to give back to those people who are not healthy at the moment, in a way that I'm pretty healthy.  If there is something that I can do that can add to the good karma in life, I think that's important," Bonnie Quinn said.

Thousands of people with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma depend on bone marrow matches to help save their life.

For more information on how you can become a donor, visit Jay's HOPE office on Forsyth Street in Macon, which is the only walk-in clinic in the state of Georgia.
