Macon police say they arrested an 18-year-old accused of robbing a man at an ATM Monday afternoon.

According to an MPD news release, the robbery happened at the State Bank in the 4100 block of Pio Nono Avenue around 1:40 p.m.

Investigators say the suspect identified by the Bibb County jail as Juares Edip Carransa walked up to the victim as he was withdrawing money from the ATM. The two men struggled after the victim knocked Carransa down.

Police say Carransas hit the victim in the head with a weapon and ran away with his wallet. Officers found the suspect and arrested him  after a brief chase.
