A 20-year-old college student died Saturday night in a hit and run accident in Barnesville, according to the Georgia State Patrol, and investigators believe the culprit was driving a Saturn Vue.
The fatal accident happened just before midnight Saturday when Gordon State College student Alexandria Noel Desir was walking on Rose Avenue.
She was heading to work at the Huddle House when she was hit, according to Lee Major, Sergeant First Class Post-Commander. Desir died on scene.
According to a news release, investigators found a turn signal assembly they believe belongs to a Saturn Vue made between 2002 and 2005.
They do not know the color of the vehicle but say it should be missing its right front corner light.
Major said the GSP's specialized collision reconstruction team is investigating this case.
