A fight over payment for a sex act led to arrests for two people Wednesday.

Iowa City police officers were dispatched to 520 Ernest St. at 4:32 p.m. for a report of a dispute over money. An investigation into the dispute revealed that 23-year-old Alysia M. Talbert, address unknown, had gone to the apartment of 27-year-old Hamed El Mohamd to perform an "erotic massage."

Police said Mohamd agreed to pay $200 for the massage.

Mohamd allegedly indicated to Talbert that he wanted to have sex with her and she agreed. However, when it was over and Talbert asked for her money, a fight ensued, police said.

Police said Talbert attempted to leave Mohamd's apartment, but he locked the door and refused to let her out. Mohamd also put his hands around Talbert's neck, pushed her against the bed and hit her in the head.

Talbert had abrasions on her temple and red marks on both sides of her neck, police said.

Police said Talbert admitted to prostituting for the past five years. She created a website highlighting the services she offers, police said. Talbert had $200 cash on her and text messages in her phone that showed she was involved in prostitution throughout the state.

Both Mohamd and Talbert were arrested. Both face charges of prostitution, an aggravated misdemeanor. Mohamd faces an additional charge of assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.
