A neighbor says a Macon shooting victim lived to his first name -- Terrific.
Macon police say 47-year-old Terrific Woolfolk was shot Saturday afternoon near the 2400 block of D Street, off Eisenhower Parkway by Shondrinka Walker.
Neighbor Gina Collins tells us, before the shooting, the two were going to the store so Woolfolk could buy Walker dinner.
She said the couple seemed happy.
Woolfolk asked Collins if she wanted anything from the store.
Collins said she wanted a Coca-Cola, and Woolfolk told her he would be right back. But they never came back.
In a news release, police said that Walker, age 22, originally told them Woolfolk had shot himself, but later confessed to shooting him.
She is in the Bibb County jail, charged with murder.
Woolfolk worked as a lawn care worker, and neighbors described him as a good person who volunteered to cut people's grass for free.
"He lived up to his name"-- Terrific -- said Collins.
But GBI records show that Woolfolk was convicted on child molestation charges in June of 2000, and was a registered sex offender in the state of Georgia.
Police spokeswoman Melanie Hofmann said police aren't aware of any connection between his past conviction and the shooting.
