Chrissy Miner re-joined 13WMAZ Eyewitness News as a fill-in Meteorologist in October 2011. We're glad to have her help.
Chrissy is employed full-time as the chief spokeswoman for Robins Air Force Base.
She is a civilian Public Affairs Specialist and, as an Air Force Reserve captain, is assigned to Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Directorate of Public Affairs.
As a native of Miami, Florida, one of Chrissy's most-significant memories as she grew up was the devastation caused by Hurricane Andrew. It was at that point she wanted to work as a meteorologist.
After graduating from high school, Chrissy enlisted in the Air Force as a meteorologist and gained experience all over the world, with assignments in Germany (NATO weather support, combat maneuver training center), Bosnia (in support of Task Force Eagle, Operation Joint Forge) and stateside locations including the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Central Texas. Chrissy moved to Central Georgia from Killeen, Texas where she was serving on active duty with the Air Force as a weather forecaster.
She began her broadcast meteorology career with 13WMAZ in April 2005 and later worked for WMGT.
Chrissy is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the Public Relations Society of America.
Chrissy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Information Technology from Columbia College and will complete her Master of Science degree in Public Relations Management this spring.
Chrissy is married to Steve, also an Air Force officer, and has one daughter McKenna, and two stepsons, Austin and Noah.
