What's a Stanford alum to do about Richard Sherman and the Seattle Seahawks cornerback's postgame rant?

Sen. Cory Booker, Stanford Class of 1991 and a former varsity football player, of course tweeted his thoughts about Sherman's emotional interview Sunday night. And Booker, D-N.J., appears to be cutting some slack to the player who proclaimed himself "the best corner in the game" in his now-famous tirade.

For those who might have missed it, Sherman dissed San Francisco 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree after making the play that helped send his team to the Super Bowl.

"I'm so happy people don't judge me on one public appearance," Booker posted on Twitter in response to a question about Sherman.

In another tweet, the senator suggested people like Sherman should "encounter more grace and generosity than is being extended to him."
