A new look for Facebook.
Yes, another change to the world's most popular social networking site.
This time, it's a revamped version of the site's News Feed feature.
Karin Caifa (prono: KAY-fuh) has a look at what's in store for one billion Facebook users, in this week's Clicked In.
IT'S FACEBOOK'S FRONT PAGE - THE FIRST THING USERS SEE WHEN THEY LOG IN ON A DESKTOP OR MOBILE PHONE.
NOW THE "NEWS FEED" IS GETTING A NEW LOOK.
Because news feed supports such a broad range of content types, as the way that we share changes, the compostion of News Feed naturally changes as well
THE CHANGES ARE MEANT TO REFLECT A SHIFT IN HOW WE POST -- LESS WITH TEXT, MORE WITH PHOTOS AND VIDEO. IMAGES WILL BE LARGER.
THE REVAMP ALSO INTRODUCES MULTIPLE NEWS FEEDS -- FEEDS JUST FOR FRIENDS, JUST FOR PHOTOS, A FEED FOR MUSIC, AND A FEED FOR THE BRANDS YOU MERELY FOLLOW.
THE NEW LOOK WILL BE CONSISTENT ACROSS DESKTOP AND MOBILE PHONES AND TABLETS.
THE CHANGES COME AS FACEBOOK FACES A MORE CROWDED SOCIAL MEDIA LANDSCAPE THAN EVER. WITH MORE THAN ONE BILLION USERS WORLDWIDE, IT'S STILL THE UNDISPUTED KING BY THE NUMBERS. BUT NINE YEARS AFTER THE SITE'S LAUNCH, SOME HAVE GROWN WEARY OF TOO MUCH SHARING.
I've sort of limited what I post about myself and pictures.//
I'm not a big fan of all the apps. I mean I could care less about if someone wants to get me on their birthday calendar.
THE LATEST IMPROVEMENTS AREN'T JUST AIMED AT USERS TO "LIKE" - THE LARGER IMAGES MEAN MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVERTISERS TO CATCH EYES TOO.
I'M KARIN CAIFA AND YOU'RE NOW CLICKED IN.
