Despite talks of more gun control, today gun owners near and far came together to acknowledge national gun appreciation day.
It's a chance for gun owners to practice their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
This is the last stop for Michael and Frankie Gay, who were in the market for a pair of concealed carry guns.
This is all just in time for the first national gun appreciation day.
It's a day to celebrate the second amendment, the right to keep and bear arms.
Since the shooting in Newtown Conneticut, President Obama proposed a gun control plan that has left local gun owners skeptical.
Michael: "It's basically to ensure that the government doesn't have tyranny on the American people."
Howard: "Think about the one that is precious to you, freedom of speech, freedom of religion. But you take away our right to keep and bear arms, you can kiss them all goodbye because that's the teeth of the constitution right there."
This reaction is in response to President Obama's gun control proposal.

13WMAZ first brought you the story of a Byron woman who decided to make comfort quilts for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.
Today Julie Love and volunteers started to cut the squares to make the quilts for the Sandy Hook victims.
Volunteers also started to stitch together the squares of green and white, the colors of the elementary school.
Love says they've received plenty of cloth and batting for the quilts.
She thinks people are helping to try to do something positive for the victims.
Julie Love: "You look at the news and you think gosh I wish there was something I can do I wish there was something I can do and here is something you can do and it really does heal."
Officer Blake Burnham, Byron Police: "What an awesome thing that is to be this far away and show their support for that community and for the victims and also what it is doing to help the ladies that are quilting with their healing process."
Love predicts it will take several months to complete the quilts.

The Macon-Bibb Animal Shelter and Paws for Hope and Faith are still working to beat their pardon deadline to save animals from being euthanized.
In doing so, they took a different approach, by sponsoring an off site adoption day.
13 dogs were taken to the Tractor Supply in Macon in hopes to find new families.
Several volunteers were on hand to help.
They say getting the animals away from the shelter is a great way for them to display their friendly personalities to the public.

President Barack Obama took part in the annual "National Day of Service" today which this year coincides with inaugural festivities in Washington.
First Lady Michelle Obama joined her husband and hundreds of volunteers to spruce up a local elementary school in the nation's capital.
Standing in the hallway of Burrville Elementary, the president wore a pair of gloves and used a paint brush to help stain a bookshelf.
"The National Day of Service" kicks off three days of inaugural celebrations in Washington.
President Obama stressed the importance of giving back and called on Americans to commit to volunteer for a service project over the long Martin Luther King, Junior holiday weekend.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: "I'm always reminded that he said, 'Everybody wants to be first; everybody wants to be a drum major, but if you're going to be a drum major, be a drum major for service. Be a drum major for justice."
