< Obama: This is where there's a difference...because Governor Romney's central economic plan calls for a five trillion dollar tax cut.
Romney: I'd like to clear up the record and go through piece by piece. First of all, I don't have a five trillion dollar tax cut... >
The president and Mitt Romney spar over the tax divide, the economy, and health care in the first televised meet-up between the two.
Good evening everyone.
I'm Frank Malloy.
And I'm Leah Johnson.
Tonight... the president and his rival talked domestic policy.
It was the first of three debates between the two held in Colorado...
And Frank... as America watched... we had company watching along with us at the station.
Right Leah... We actually had a couple of local political activists in for the debate.
As it turns out, they had a few debates of their own.
I'm going to talk to Randall Savage about what it was like sitting in with them in just a moment...but first...we're going to wrap up the key points from tonight's meeting of the minds.
Danielle Nottingham has some highlights from the evening's points and counterpoints.
Now that's an overview from the evening.
And at 13WMAZ...we didn't watch alone.
Two political activists...one Republican, one Democrat...watched from our conference room...and Randall Savage spent the evening with them.

County leaders have struggled to find the funds to hire additional staff and buy equipment needed to open.
Earlier this week though... Commissioners *did give the go-ahead to accept bids for furnishing the rest of equipment needed.
And that's a step in the right direction according to Sheriff Jeff Hinson.
<It's kind of a little bit of excitement on our part to be able to move out of where we are now and to move in to this facility that we come down and look at on a daily and weekly basis. You know we get to walk around and say i'd be nice to be here. Now we can see maybe a little light at the end of the tunnel >
