HELLO EVERYONE AND THANKS FOR JOINING US.... I'M LEAH JOHNSON..
AND I'M LORRA LYNCH JONES.
FRANK MALLOY HAS THE NIGHT OFF.

THE BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE IS LOOKING INTO WHETHER A WEAVER MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER TOUCHED A STUDENT INAPPROPRIATELY.
AN INCIDENT REPORT IDENTIFIES THE TEACHER AS 23-YEAR-OLD SAMUEL MCPHEE... A MUSIC TEACHER.
ACCORDING TO THE BIBB COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT... MCPHEE WAS PUT ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE LAST WEEK.. THE SAME DAY THE 14-YEAR-OLD MALE STUDENT REPORTED THE MATTER.
THE REPORT DOESN'T GIVE FURTHER DETAILS.... BUT SAYS THE TEACHER MAY HAVE COMMITTED.... QUOTE... UNNATURAL ACTS... AND CALLS THE CASE A POSSIBLE SEXUAL ASSAULT.
IT ALSO SAYS THERE MAY BE SURVEILLANCE-CAMERA VIDEO OF THE ALLEGED ASSAULT.
ACCORDING TO THE REPORT.. IT HAPPENED AT SCHOOL LAST MONDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 1-45.
BIBB COUNTY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS SAY THE STUDENT SPOKE TO CAMPUS POLICE THAT DAY AND THE TEACHER WAS IMMEDIATELY PLACED ON LEAVE.
SO FAR... BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF LIEUTENANT SEAN DEFOE SAYS NO ONE HAS BEEN CHARGED.

YOU CAN EXPECT SOME DELAYS IN TRAFFIC COMING ON AND OFF ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.
THAT'S THE MESSAGE FROM PLANNERS OF A DISASTER DRILL CALLED ARDENT SENTRY 2012... THAT STARTS WEDNESDAY.
<<nats- cars
MONDAY... TRAFFIC INTO ROBINS AIR FORCE'S MAIN GATE MOVED QUICKLY...
nat break- cars
BUT CHIEF OF PROGRAMS AND PLANNING FOR THE 78TH AIR BASE WING TONY MCVAY.. SAYS ARDENT SENTRY 2012 COULD CHANGE THAT.
Tony McVay, Planning and Programming: (4:20) "Ardent Sentry focuses on the natural disaster type responses, could be a hurricane, earthquake or other type of natural disaster. How do we reposond to assist in those endevours?"
MCVAY SAYS IT'S A NATIONWIDE DRILL... CONDUCTED EVERY MAY... FOR MILITARY INSTALLATIONS AND OTHER AGENCIES SUCH AS FEMA.
Tony McVay (8:20) "The overall goal is to test and evaluate our organization, our personnell and our warfighters to make sure we can respond to natural disasters, and any other scenarios out there that may take place."
AS PART OF THE DRILL... MCVAY SAYS THEY MAY RAISE FORCE PROTECTION LEVELS... OR SECURITY MEASURES... WHICH WOULD IMPACT BASE TRAFFIC AND ACTIVITIES.
Lorra Lynch Jones: (15:05) "For example, if the exercise calls for raising the force protection level from Alpha, which is what it is at now to Charlie, then all the entrances and exits to the base could close temporarilty."
Tony McVay: (9:28) "You're also going to see when we elevate force protection measures, that will impact all the facilities on the installation and all people."
HE SAYS SOME ENTRANCES TO BUILDINGS MAY BE LOCKED... OR PARKING PROCEDURES MAY CHANGE...
nats- cars
POSSIBLY FRUSTRATING TO SOME... BUT ALL WITH THE PURPOSE OF PREPARATION.>> MCVAY SAYS AIR FORCE MATERIEL COMMAND AT WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE WILL ISSUE SOME ORDERS FOR THE EXERCISES.
OTHERS ARE PLANNED BY ROBINS.
THE DRILL LASTS THROUGH MAY 11TH.

THE STATE COULD START CHARGING DISABLED VETERANS A MONTHLY FEE TO LIVE IN THE GEORGIA WAR VETERAN'S HOME.
BUT ONE LEGISLATOR SAYS... HE DOESN'T THINK THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN. JUDY LE HAS THE STORY...
OLD SOLDIERS...SAILORS....AND AIRMEN..... LIVING IN THE WAR VETERANS HOME IN MILLEDGEVILLE MIGHT HAVE TO PAY 682-DOLLARS TO LIVE THERE... IF GOVERNOR NATHAN DEAL SIGNS HOUSE BILL 5-35 INTO LAW.
sot patricia creighton - 57 i served in the us army...i served all over 102
sot samuel williams - 49 i did basic training in fort benny. from fort benny i went to germany and then to vietnam
THE BILL SAYS VETS MIGHT HAVE TO PAY AN AID AND ATTENDANCE FEE...BUT THERE WOULD BE A FULL OR PARTIAL WAIVER FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T AFFORD IT.
sot ernie simons - 17 everyone would be looked at individually so it would not be a set fee imposed on everyone 25
EVERYONE LIVING IN THE HOME...LIKE VIETNAM VET...SAMUEL WILLIAMS...HAS MEDICAL NEEDS SAYS DIRECTOR ERNIE SIMONS
sot samuel williams - 146 when i came back...i got married. i get flashbacks and stuff like that...but i'm doing fine...154
standup - 241 veterans live here. this place can hold up to 350. meals...medication...and room and board are all free. simons says the aid and attendance fee will go towards housing more veterans.
BUT STATE REPRESENTATIVE RUSTY KIDD...WHO BACKED THE BILL....DOESN'T THINK VETERANS WILL HAVE TO PAY UP.
phoner: 636 just because it was proposed, it don't mean the particular waY it was written will become law of the land 644
HE SAYS THE GOAL WAS TO TAP INTO FEDERAL FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE HOME....NOT MAKE VETERANS THEMSELVES PAY.
BUT WILLIAMS FEELS LIKE THE GOVERNMENT HAS BLINDSIDED HIM WITH THIS BILL.
sot samuel williams - 357 it's hard because i'm on a fixed income. cost of living is high now and i don't think it's fair to treat the veterans the way they say they're going to do. i don't know whats going to happen...it's all in the air.
THE BILL SETS UP A BOARD THAT WILL DECIDE WHO SHOULD PAY...AND HOW MUCH. SO KIDD AND SIMONS SAY IT'S TOO SOON TO SAY HOW THE LAW WOULD AFFECT VETGERANS.
JUDY LE...13WMAZ...EYEWITNESS NEWS
WE CALLED THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE FOR AN UPDATE ON WHETHER NATHAN DEAL WILL SIGN THE BILL... AND WHEN.
THEY DID NOT RETURN OUR PHONE CALLS.

THIS STORY IS CAUSING PLENTY OF REACTION ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE.
DALLAS WROTE... "I DON'T AGREE WITH EVERYTHING WE ASK OF OUR MILITARY, BUT I WAS RAISED TO BE GRATEFUL THEY SERVED NO MATTER THE CAUSE - WHETHER FOR OUR DEFENSE OR TO SERVE POLITICAL AGENDAS.
THEY ARE THE ONES WHO PUT THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE AND MANY DON'T COME HOME.
THEY'VE PAID THEIR BILL.
AND JAMES COMMENTED... "ON THE SURFACE... IT SOUNDS BAD... BUT I'D HAVE TO ACTUALLY READ THE LAW AND SEE HOW THIS HOME IS SPENDING 14 MILLION DOLLARS.
CHARGING A FEE TO THOSE THAT CAN AFFORD IT MAKES SENSE IN ORDER TO EXTEND BENEFITS TO OTHERS.
BUT I WOULD THINK THE VETS THAT CAN AFFORD IT WOULDN'T BE CHOOSING TO LIVE THERE ANYWAY."

HE SAYS ONCE THE TOWN GETS BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK... ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
(SOT: if nothing else for a movie set, i think the town is just right for if they wanted to make an old movie of some sort.)
SOME OF TOOMSBORO'S ALMOST 620 RESIDENTS SAY THEIR HOMETOWN IS SMALL... BUT THEIR DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE... DON'T COME MUCH BIGGER.
