HELLO EVERYONE AND THANKS FOR JOINING US....I'M LEAH JOHNSON..
AND I'M LORRA LYNCH JONES.
THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS AT SIX...

OUR TOP STORY TONIGHT... PARTS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA ARE UNDER A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH... AS A LINE OF STRONG STORMS MOVES THROUGH THE AREA
CHIEF METEOROLOGIST BEN JONES IS MONITORING THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT... BEN... WHAT'S THE LATEST?
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Central Georgia until 10 p.m.
Crawford, Crisp, Dooly, Houston, Macon, Peach, Pulaski, Taylor, Upson and Wilcox counties are included in the watch.
A watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms.
THANKS BEN.. WE'LL TALK WITH YOU AGAIN IN JUST A FEW MINUTES.

THIS WEEK... YOU'VE EMAILED AND CALLED US... ABOUT RUMORS OF FIGHTS AT RUTLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL.
SOME OF YOU ALSO POSTED ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE... LIKE TRACY... WHO ASKED...
DO YOU HAVE ANY REPORTS ON WHAT HAPPENED AT RUTLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL YESTERDAY AND WHY THE B-O-E DIDNT NOTIFY THE PARENTS?
SO WE INVESTIGATED.... SCHOOL OFFICIALS TELL US THE RUMORS ARE FALSE ...BUT THEY'VE RAISED SECURITY AS A PRECAUTION.
WE SENT AUSTIN LEWIS TO RUTLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL TO FIND OUT MORE---.
<<
ACCORDING TO BIBB COUNTY SCHOOLS...EVERYTHING STARTED WITH A STUDENT TOSSING THE HOODED PART OF THEIR SWEATSHIRT INTO THE TRASH---
David Gowan, Director of Risk Management: Another student picked the hoodie that was left out of the trash can and very briefly put it on their face and the teacher had the student immediately removed the hoodie, but that was the incident that occurred earlier this week that has contributed to the rumors in the community and the post on facebook.
GOWAN SAYS THE STUDENT WHO REMOVED THE HOODIE ALSO CUT TWO HOLES IN IT. THAT LED TO RUMORS THAT SOMEONE WAS WALKING THROUGH SCHOOL WEARING A K-K-K HOOD. GOWAN SAYS TENSIONS ROSE AS THE RUMORS SPREAD THROUGH THE COMMUNITY----
David Gowan, Director of Risk Management for Bibb County Schools: 00:24 We've had a lot of rumors, about guns found in school, a lot of rioting and fighting and none of these things are true. What's happening here is a lot of kids are posting comments on facebook, and we really need the parents help because we can't control what they put on facebook once they leave school.
GOWAN SAYS THEY RAISED SECURITY ON CAMPUS AS A PRECAUTION.
David Gowan, Director of Risk Management for Bibb County Schools: In the last few days, we've had a few extra officers out here and we've had emergency response team out here at various times, helping with the situation.
HE SAYS CAMERAS ARE ON IN THE HALLS AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES IN PLACE TO KEEP STUDENTS SAFE.

>> GOWAN SAYS PARENTS ARE BEING NOTIFIED BY LETTER TONIGHT ABOUT WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED AT RUTLAND MIDDLE.

CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES LED TO A 20-YEAR SENTENCE FOR A WARNER ROBINS MAN.
(i'm very scared for him, i just dont want anything bad to happen to him.)
THE SON OF 53-YEAR-OLD ERNEST GREGORY ARTHUR TOOK THE STAND TO TALK ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS FATHER BEFORE JUDGE GEORGE NUNN GAVE HIS RULING.
AFTER A TWO DAY TRIAL... JURORS TOOK LESS THAN 45 MINUTES TO CONVICT ARTHUR ON 8 COUNTS OF CHILD EXPLOITATION.
IN AUGUST 2009... INVESTIGATORS USED THE I-P ADDRESS TO TRACE THE CHILD PORN DOWNLOADED TO A COMPUTER AT ARTHUR'S HOME.
JURORS WATCHED 60 SECONDS OF THE VIDEOS FOUND ON ARTHUR'S HARD DRIVE BEFORE MAKING THEIR DECISION.
the second you see the first couple seconds of it, it's really disgusting and if you just let someone back out on probation then theres a decent chance that if you have child pornography youre going to think that you can just go right back out and get probation again and have it on your computer as much as you want to.
Nick White, attorney 0:18, he's been found guilty of a crime, he denied it and he still denies it but the law is the law and when the jury comes back with guilty, sentencing's appropriate, and i think the judge gave an appropriate sentence.
ARTHUR HAS TO SERVE FIVE YEARS IN PRISON BEFORE BEING CONSIDERED FOR PAROLE.
HE MUST ALSO UNDERGO COUNSELING AND PAY A THREE-THOUSAND DOLLAR FINE.
ARTHUR WILL BE ADDED TO THE STATE'S SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY.
