FIRE CHIEF MARVIN RIGGINS SAYS CREWS RESPONDED TO A FIRE AT A DUPLEX ON PATTERSON STREET JUST AFTER 9:30 FRIDAY MORNING.
CREWS CONTAINED THE FLAMES WITHIN FIFTEEN MINUTES... BUT THEY FOUND 41-YEAR OLD YVONNE JACKSON DEAD IN AN UPSTAIRS BEDROOM.
(SOT:its got a pretty severe level of fire damage, particularly in the upper level where the actual body was found. pretty heavy damage in that bedroom area where she was found.)
HE SAYS OFFICERS HAVE NOT DETERMINED CAUSE OF THE FIRE... BUT JAMI GAUDET WITH MACON POLICE SAYS... QUOTE...."THERES NO DOUBT THE FIRE WAS SET."
(SOT:it is suspicious but were contrinuing to investigate. we dont have conclusive evidence at this point, but we are treating it as a suspicious fire and as a homicide.)

AND WHEN WE WERE THERE FRIDAY AFTERNOON...WE SAW A MAN LEAVING THE HOME. HE RODE AWAY ON A BIKE...BEFORE WE COULD SPEAK TO HIM.
SUNMART BANK SAYS THEY FOUND TWO PEOPLE IN THE HOME FRIDAY....AND TOLD THEM TO LEAVE.
THE BANK SAYS THEY ARE SPENDING THE NEXT FEW DAYS....CHANGING THE LOCKS, REPLACING NO TRESPASSING SIGNS AND SECURING THE PROPERTY. 
SOME NEIGHBORS SAY THEY HOPE TO SEE CHANGES ON THIS LOT.
