Hundreds came to Washington 's Freedom Plaza Saturday demanding an investigation into the deadly shooting of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.

They chanted " Skittles and ice tea, are not suspcicious to me "--- a reference to the items Martin was carrying when he was shot and killed last month as he walked through a neighborhood in the Orlando suburb of Sanford.

Neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman says he shot Martin after the teenager attacked him.
Zimmerman was not arrested because of Florida's "Stand Your Ground Law."
Many claim Zimmerman shot Martin because he was black, an accusation his attorney denies.

(--SOT: CRAIG SONNER/ZIMMERMAN'S ATTORNEY --)
"THIS WAS NOT A RACIAL ISSUE IN WHAT HAPPENED THAT DAY. MR. ZIMMERMAN HAS BEEN INVOLVED THIS COMMUNITY AND WITH PEOPLE IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY."

Nationwide the number of people outraged over Martin's death is growing.

In Chicago, Cleveland...and Phliadelphia, demonstrators this weekend supported Martin's family and want Zimmerman arrested.
Many wore hoodies. Martin was wearing one when he was killed.

IN ANOTHER SHOW OF SUPPORT FOR THE MARTIN FAMILY WORSHIPPERS, MEMBERS OF THE CHOIR AS WELL AS THE CLERGY AT THIS NEW YORK CITY CHURCH ARE BEING ASKED TO WEAR HOODIES ON SUNDAY. THE SERVICE WILL ALSO INCLUDE A SONG COMPOSED IN HIS MEMORY.

Florida has appointed a new special prosecutor to review the case and next month a grand jury could decide if Zimmerman should be charged.

As attorneys work their way through the legal system protestors vow to continue their calls for justice.
