HELLO EVERYONE AND THANKS FOR JOINING US.... I'M LEAH JOHNSON.. AND I'M FRANK MALLOY.
THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS AT SIX...

AFTER A WEEK OF ONLINE PROTEST... AND A STUDENT MARCH TODAY... BIBB COUNTY SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT ROMAIN DALLEMAND ANNOUNCED THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL BOARD VOTE THIS WEEK ON HIS MACON MIRACLE STRATEGIC PLAN.

LAST WEEK...THE BOARD SAID THEY WOULD VOTE TOMORROW.
DALLEMAND TODAY SAID THAT THEY'LL PUT OFF THE VOTE TO GIVE PEOPLE MORE TIME TO COMMENT... AND TO GIVE THE SCHOOL BOARD MORE TIME TO STUDY THE PLAN.

"We want to make sure that the community has an opportunity to share with us their concern and we want to listen to what our parents or students our community members... we want for them to be a part of this process. We started doing this work together and we're going to finish doing it together."

DALLEMAND SAYS THEY PLAN TO HOLD A FORUM FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS TO GIVE FEED BACK ON THE PLAN.
HE SAYS THEY HAVE NOT SET A DATE FOR THE FORUM..

THE STUDENTS WHO MARCHED TODAY WANTED TO MAKE SURE THEIR THOUGHTS ABOUT THE SUPERINTENDANTS PLAN WERE HEARD..

BRITTINY BARBER SPOKE WITH SOME OF THE 200 STUDENTS WHO WENT TO THE BOARD OFFICE TO VOICE THEIR TOP CONCERNS.

Elllyson: "Shutting down 12 schools in the school system there's no need for it. the schools get overcrowded as it is."
OTHER STUDENTS SAY THEY HIT THE STREETS.. FOR SIMILAR REASONS.
Brown; "he's trying to cut out jobs and people these days are desperate for jobs and that's just going to make more problems with finding jobs."

Janice Slaven, PTO President: "We particularly feel that Dallemand is infringing on our rights as parents. by extending the school day year around school bringing in chinese."
Jennifer Smith: "Middle School starting in fourth grade I can't send my child to middle school. She's not ready."

BIBB COUNTY COMMISSIONER BERT BIVINS ANNOUNCED TODAY HE'S SEEKING RE-ELECTION FOR HIS DISTRICT TWO SEAT.

HE SAYS HE WANTS TO CONTINUE HIS WORK ON THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS.
BIVINS SAYS HE WANTS TO CONTINUE EMPHASIZING COST SAVING PRACTIES AND TO MAKE SURE S.P.L.O.S.T PROJECTS ARE CARRIED OUT.

Bert Bivins County Commissioner "The Infrastructure projects is not going to be enough money to do all of them and so there are some things coming up where we are subject to need another S.P.L.O.S.T. community all around us through out the state pretty much keep a S.P.L.O.S.T on, because its a good way to get things done.

HE ALSO SAYS CITIZENS AND EMPLOYEES OF BIBB COUNTY CAN EXPECT TO BE TREATED FAIRLY WHEN DEALING WITH THE COUNTY GOVERMENT.
BIVINS WAS FIRST ELECTED TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS IN JUNE 1995.
