UP TO 12-HUNDRED PEOPLE AT ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE CAN APPLY FOR EARLY RETIREMENT OR EARLY SEPERATION OFFERS.
THAT NUMBER DOUBLED YESTERDAY... WHEN THE BASE ANNOUNCED THAT WORKERS IN THE 402ND MAINTENANCE WING WOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE OFFERS.
MAJOR GENERAL BOB MCMAHON CALLED A ROUND TABLE TODAY... TO EXPLAIN WHAT'S HAPPENING.
HE SAID ROBINS CHOSE TO OFFER THE EARLY OUTS TO THE 402ND EMPLOYEES.
MCMAHON SAID THEY'RE DOING THAT TO TAKE A PROACTIVE APPROACH AHEAD OF FUTURE CUTS BY THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE..
General Robert McMahon, Warner Robins: (3:20) "We recognize however that there is the potential for changes within our force structure with in the United States Air Force. Based upon the funding challenges that our nation and Department of Defense faces, we believed it was prudent to be proactive and to open up this opportunity for our depot maintenance personnel was we look to what we can expect to have happen with announcements in the next months with perhaps changes to the force structure."

FIRE CHIEF MARVIN RIGGINS DEFENDED HIS DECISION TO SUSPEND WHITE FOR TEN DAYS AND SAYS EACH FIREFIGHTER WAS DISCIPLINED BASED ON THEIR INVOLVEMENT.
WHITE SAYS HIS COMMANDING OFFICER.. CAPTAIN STEPHANIE BURKE TOLD HIM ABOUT THE PRANK AND HE WENT ALONG WITH IT BECAUSE SHE SAID IT WAS OK.

HARTWIG SAYS SOLOMON IS ALREADY SERVING A 100 YEAR PRISON SENTENCE FOR VIOLATING HIS PROBATION.

CITY AND COUNTY LEADERS SAY THEY'RE WORKING TO BE FAIR TO THE 89 CITY WORKERS WHO WILL BECOME CITY EMPLOYEES THIS SUMMER.
