COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANS COULD SEE A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME WHEN IT COMES TO CROWNING A NATIONAL CHAMPION ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD.
BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES OFFICIALS WILL MEET TUESDAY TO TALK ABOUT CHANGING THE POST-SEASON SYSTEM.
KATELYN HECK SHOWS US WHAT SOME PEOPLE IN CENTRAL GEORGIA THINK ABOUT THE POSSIBLE CHANGES.
<<
(NATS)
HARD HITS AND BIG PLAYS... ONLY THE TEAMS WITH THE THE WHOLE PACKAGE WILL MAKE IT TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
BUT MANY COLLEGE BALL FANS SAY THE ROAD TO THE NATIONAL TITLE... NEEDS TO CHANGE COURSE.

(SOT: I dont have a plan in my head that would work for them but I know that what they've got going on now just doesnt interest me at all.)
(SOT: Theres too many what if's the way it is)

NOW... B-C-S COMMITEES ARE BREAKING OUT THEIR PLAYBOOKS AND DRAWING UP A NEW POST-SEASON GAMEPLAN.

(SOT: there's been a lot of pressure on them over the past two years, and now this year with two SEC teams playing in the national championship, I think people are getting disheartened with how the BCS is doing things.)

THE B-C-S SAYS IT WILL EXPLORE OPTIONS LIKE GETTING RID OF AUTOMATIC BOWL BIDS... OR A PLUS ONE SYSTEM WHERE THE TOP FOUR TEAMS WILL BATTLE IT OUT FOR THE NATIONAL TITLE.
SOME FOLKS IN CENTRAL GEORGIA SAY THEIR VOTE IS FOR A SMALL-SCALE PLAYOFF.

(SOT: Playing a few more games, generating a little more money, a little more exposure for themselves... i think everybody gets to win)

U-G-A ATHLETIC DIRECTOR GREG MCGARITY AGREES THE B-C-S COULD USE A FEW CHANGES...BUT SAYS HE LIKES THE CURRENT BOWL SYSTEM...

(SOT: MCGARITY: I don't think anyone can argue the fact that at the end of the bowl seson, 35 teams get to end their seasons on a positive note.)

BUT NO MATTER WHAT SYSTEM THE B-C-S CHOOSES... FANS SAY THEY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE TO CHEER ON THEIR FAVORITE TEAMS.

(SOT: "ROLL TIDE ROLL!")
(SOT: "GO LSU!")

>> ANY CHANGES MADE TO THE B-C-S SYSTEM WON'T START UNTIL THE 2014 FOOTBALL SEASON.

WE ASKED OUR FACEBOOK FANS WHAT SORT OF CHANGES THEY'D WANT TO SEE IN THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL "POST SEASON."
HUGH SAYS... "FOUR-TEAM PLAYOFF... WITH THE TOP TWO TEAMS IN THE NATION HOSTING THE "SEMI-FINALS AT THEIR OWN STADIUM. THAT WAY... THE FANBASES DON'T HAVE TO TRAVEL TO TWO BOWL GAMES... AND POSSIBLY LOSE MONEY BECAUSE THEY DON'T SELL THEIR FULL ALLOTMENT OF TICKETS.
THIS YEAR... THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN L-S-U VERSUS STANFORD AND ALABAMA VERSUS OKLAHOMA STATE. WE MAY HAVE GOTTEN THE SAME NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME... BUT AT LEAST THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO PLAY TO GET INTO IT INSTEAD OF LEAVING IT TO COMPUTERS."
KRISTINA COMMENTED... "PERSONAL OPINION SHOULD NOT BE PART OF THE DECISION BASE. SHOULD BE STATISTICS AND PERFORMANCE
AND KIM REPLIED... "KRISTINA, I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO SAY, BUT YOU CAN'T GO WITH PURE STATS BECAUSE TEAMS DON'T PLAY THE SAME CALIBER TEAMS AS OTHERS. THERE WILL NEVER BE A PERFECT SYSTEM... BUT SOME SORT OF PLAYOFF AND GETTING RID OF AUTOMATIC BIDS WOULD BE A LOT BETTER."

FOR BEVERLY IT'LL BE IMPROVING TAX BREAKS FOR POVERTY-STRICKEN AREAS. HE SAYS THAT WOULD MOVE PARTS OF BIBB COUNTY UP TO THE TOP OF THE LIST...IN THE STATE'S FOUR-TIER RANKING FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
James Beverly, State Representative: Currently, Middle Georgia, Bibb County is in a Tier 3 sort of tax incentive base when it comes to jobs, tax breaks, incentives for developing business. What I want to do is introduce a bill that says if a census tract has a poverty rate of 45 percent or greater it will qualify as a Tier 1.
AND BEVERLY SAYS THAT'LL BE GOOD FOR CENTRAL GEORGIA.
James Beverly, State Representative: Which means that if you create five jobs, you get a $4,000 tax credit and five to eight percent deveopment fee if you do manufacturing or telecommunications.
MIRIAM PARIS HAS JOB GROWTH ON HER MIND AS WELL.
Miriam Paris, State Senator: Certainly economic development, I'm on that committee. So certainly that's gonna be one of the things I'll be looking at, making sure that we're trying to open up the state specifically my district for jobs.
SHE SAYS STREAMLINED GOVERNMENT AND PUSHING CENTRAL GEORGIA'S ASSETS WILL HELP.
Miriam Paris, State Senator: I think what we have to do is just make our area more attractive and certainly I think the consolidation of Macon and Bibb will handle some of that and just marketing very well the rural areas.
