GOOD EVENING, AND THANKS FOR JOINING US... I'M AMY AUBERT.

THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS AT 11.

THE IOWA CAUCUSES ARE JUST A MONTH AWAY AND TONIGHT THERE'S A MAJOR SHAKEUP IN THE G-O-P PRESIDENTIAL FIELD.

HERMAN CAIN SUSPENDED HIS CAMPAIGN TODAY.

THIS COMES IN THE WAKE OF SEVERAL SEXUAL SCANDALS THAT DISRUPTED HIS BID FOR THE PRESIDENCY.

DREW LEVINSON HAS MORE.

(--PKG--)

(--LOCATOR; ATLANTA--)

It felt like a campaign rally.

(--NATSOUND--)

"HERMAN, HERMAN, HERMAN"

Until Herman Cain told his supporters, he's out of the race.

(:08-:18)(--SOT: HERMAN CAIN/FORMER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE--)

" I AM SUSPENDING MY PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN BECAUSE OF THE CONTINUED DISTRACTION."

The former GOP candidate lost financial support after several allegations of sexual harassment (ap photo) and one woman who claimed they had a13-year affair. Cain denies it all.

With his wife Gloria standing by him, Cain says she never asked him to quit.

(--SOT: ONE ON ONE WITH CAIN --)

"I SAW THE PAIN THIS MESS WAS CAUSING HER AND THAT'S WHY I MADE THE DECISION."

The accusations derailed what was a quick rise to the top of the polls.

Cain's announcement came at what was supposed to be the opening of his national headquarters in his hometown of Atlanta.

Laura Schaeffer was ready to vote for Cain.

(--SOT LAURA SCHAEFFER/CAIN SUPPORTER--)

( :53-:59 )"HE WAS A REAL TRUE JOY AND A HOPE THAT WE COULD TURN THIS COUNTRY AROUND. NOW, I'M NOT SO SURE."

The two front runners quickly reacted.

(1:02-1:07)(--SOT NEWT GINGRICH/GOP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE--)

"HE DESERVES CREDIT FOR HAVING THE COURAGE TO TALK ABOUT THE BIG IDEAS AND FOCUS ON THE ECONOMY.

(graphics) Mitt Romney tweeted:

"Herman's campaign was one of ideas. His decision was based on what is best for him and his family."

(--NATSOUND--)

Cain said he will continue to be a voice for the people.

(--NATSOUND CAIN ---)

" THEY'RE NOT GOING TO SHUT ME UP."

In the end Cain wasn't able to withstand all the pressure a presidential candidate must endure.
