A FIGHT AT A CENTRAL GEORGIA PRISON SENT 12 INMATES TO THE HOSPITAL..

GWENDOLYN HOGAN WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS SAYS IT HAPPENED FRIDAY NIGHT.... AT HANCOCK STATE PRISON IN SPARTA...

SHE SAYS THE DISTURBANCE APPEARED GANG RELATED... AND SHE SAID QUOTE "WITHOUT A DOUBT" CELL PHONES WERE USED TO ORGANIZE THE EVENT.

INMATES INSIDE THE TENT CITY BEGAN THE FIGHT, ACCORDING TO HOGAN....

SHE SAYS THERE WERE ALSO SEVERAL ASSAULTS INSIDE THE MAIN BUILDING AT THE SAME TIME....

THE GEORGIA STATE PATROL SET UP A PERIMETER AROUND THE PRISON... SPARTA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND HANCOCK SHERIFF'S OFFICE ALSO RESPONDED....

HOGAN SAYS ABOUT 150 OF THE "TENT CITY" INMATES ARE BEING RELOCATED TO OTHER CLOSE SECURITY PRISONS IN GEORGIA....

SHE SAYS NO STAFF WAS INJURED FRIDAY NIGHT... AND NO ONE ATTEMPTED AN ESCAPE....

HOGAN SAYS AS OF THIS MORNING.. THE THE FACILITY IS ON LOCKDOWN AND "SECURE."...

TELFAIR STATE PRISON EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR PROBLEM EARLIER THIS WEEK... SENDING THREE INMATES TO THE HOSPITAL...

OFFICIALS SAY CELLPHONES INSIDE THE PRISON ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO THAT DISTURBANCE....

THE LA QUINTA INN IN WARNER ROBINS IS A COMPLETE LOSS... SAYS WARNER ROBINS FIRE CHIEF RANDY DAVIS... AFTER A FIRE RIPPED THROUGH THE BUILDING THURSDAY AFTERNOON....

DAVIS SAYS THE BLAZE WAS SO BAD... THE ROOF COLLAPSED IN MANY PARTS OF THE HOTEL....

BUT AS ELEANOR LISSITZYN EXPLAINS... FIREFIGHTERS HARD WORK ... HELPED ONE WOMAN FEEL EVEN MORE GRATEFUL THIS THANKSGIVING.

SHE FELT SURE... IT WAS GONE FOREVER

A THURSDAY AFTERNOON FIRE BADLY DAMAGED THE BUILDING...

WARNER ROBINS FIRE CHIEF RANDY DAVIS... AND HIS FIREFIGHTERS CONTINUED TO FIGHT FLARE UPS SATURDAY MORNING.

"It's a complete loss."

"Fire investigators say they think the cause of the fire was a cigarette thrown into a flower bed on the far side of the building. Chief Davis says management knew about that intial fire, they came out and believed they had extinquished it. But Davis says what they didn't realize was that the flames had already gotten into the walls of the building. He says once that happeend it quickly spread up and over."

CHIEF DAVIS SPENT THE MORNING UP IN THE BUCKET... SCOURING THE HOTEL'S COLLAPSED ROOF...FOR HOT SPOTS.

BUT THAT WASN'T ALL HE FOUND.

OUT OF THIS CHARRED SUITCASE... CAME A LITTLE LEATHER POUCH.

"Found somebody's jewerly... she said it was priceless to her."

DAVIS HEADS FOR THE CANDLEWOOD SUITS ACROSS THE STREET... WHERE MANY EVACUATED GUESTS SPENT THE NIGHT.

"I'm looking for xxx."

CATHERINE JACKSON AND HER FOUR MONTH OLD SON WERE ALSO GUESTS AT THE LA QUINTA INN AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE...

JACKSON SAYS THEY WERE STAYING AT THE HOTEL... AS THEY MOVED FROM MICHIGAN TO HOUSTON COUNTY....

SHE SAYS THINGS LIKE FURNITURE... AND BEDDING ARE COMING IN A MOVING TRUCK TOMORROW... BUT THEY LOST NEARLY ALL OF THE THINGS FOR THEIR BABY....

JACKSON SAYS AFTER WORD GOT OUT ABOUT THEIR LOSS... DONATIONS POURED IN....

TOYS... BABY CLOTHES... BOTTLES... AND A CAR SEAT... AS WELL AS CLOTHING FOR HERSELF AND HER HUSBAND... ALL CAME FROM STANGERS...

SHE SAYS SHE WAS TOUCHED... AND SUPRISED BY THE GENEROSITY OF PEOPLE IN CENTRAL GEORGIA...

Catherine Jackson: "Where I live people aren't like that. Everyones been so, so sweet here. And I'm grateful to be moving to such a nice community."

NO GUESTS OR FIREFIGHTERES WERE INJURED IN THAT FIRE....

FIRE CREWS ALSO FOUND A DOG IN THE HOTEL YESTERDAY MORNING THAT THEY BELIEVED HAD DIED IN THE FIRE....

CHIEF DAVIS SAYS THE ANIMAL SURVIVED IN A KENNEL... AND WAS ALIVE AND WELL WHEN THEY RETURNED IT TO IT'S OWNER...

A FEW DOGS WILL SPEND THE HOLIDAYS IN A NEW HOME THANKS TO GEORGIA CANINE RESCUE.

THEY BROUGHT PUPS OF ALL SHAPES AND SIZES TO TRACTOR SUPPLY IN WARNER ROBINS TODAY.

FOLKS WHO DIDN'T TAKE HOME A NEW FURRY FRIEND COULD STILL HELP BY GIVING A DONATION OR BUYING ONE OF THEIR SWEET TREATS.

A VET WAS ALSO ON SITE TO GIVE IMMUNIZATIONS FOR A LOW PRICE... AND ALL OF THE MONEY RAISED GOES TO THE RESCUE CENTER.

ONE ORGANIZERS SAYS JUST WATCHING THE DOGS MAKE A FULL RECOVERY IS PAYMENT ENOUGH.

They just want to be your best friend. And seeing them go to a home where they can live and be happy and come back in Pets Mart fat and happy, that's the best part for me.
