GOOD EVENING AND THANKS FOR JOINING US..
I'M BRITTINY BARBER... THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS AT 11...
LEAH JOHNSON HAS THE NIGHT OFF... AND FRANK WILL JOIN US AFTER THE SHOW FOR FOOTBALL FRIDAY NIGHT...

OUR TOP STORY TONIGHT... SEVERAL INMATES AT HANCOCK STATE PRISON IN SPARTA WERE INVOLVED IN A FIGHT EARLIER THIS EVENING...
THAT'S ACCORDING TO GWENDOLYN HOGAN WITH THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS...
SHE SAID THE FIGHT WAS CONTAINED TO ONE HOUSING UNIT AT THE PRISON... AND OFFICERS ARE INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF THE INCIDENT....
WE'LL HAVE MORE INFORMATION AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE... HERE ON 13WMAZ AND ON 13WMAZ-DOT-COM....

A SINGLE CAR ACCIDNET HAS SHUTDOWN ... HIGHWAY 247 SOUTHBOUND.. NEAR THE BIBB ..HOUSTON COUNTY LINE.
THE HOUSTON COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE SAYS OFFICIALS ARE DETOURING TRAFFIC... AFTER A CAR HIT A POWER POLE.. THEY SAY THEY SHUTDOWN THE HIGHWAY... FOR CREWS TO CLEAN UP THE SCENE....
THE ACCIDENT HAPPEND AROUND 8-40....
NO MAJOR INJURES WERE REPORTED.

MILLIONS OF SHOPPERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY HIT THE STORES EARLY THIS MORNING... FOR BLACK FRIDAY...
THE NUMBERS AREN'T OUT YET... ON JUST HOW BIG IT WAS -- AND MOST LOCAL RETAIILERS WE SPOKE TO WOULDN'T COMMENT ON TODAY'S TURNOUT.....
BUT THE NATIONAL RETAIL FEDERATION PREDICTED EARLIER THAT MORE 150-MILLION PEOPLE.... WILL BRAVE THE CROWDS THIS WEEKEND... ABOUT 10 PERCENT MORE THAN A YEAR AGO.....
AUSTIN LEWIS TALKED TO SHOPPERS AND BUSINESSES AT THE GALLERIA MALL IN WARNER ROBINS.... ABOUT WHETHER IT WAS ALL WORTH IT.

<<
Denise Harrison, Warner Robins: I just moved out to Georgia, it's my very first one and it went okay. Macy's has the best deals so I liked it.
AND THOSE DEALS FROM RETAIL STORES ACROSS THE COUNTRY DROVE FIRST-TIME BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPERS LIKE HER---AND OTHERS TO THE MALL TO GET THE BEST DEALS ON ELECTRONICS, CLOTHES, SHOES AND OTHER HOT ITEMS AT A FRACTION OF THE COST.
Denise Harrison, Warner Robins: I got rings for 75 percent off, fine jewelry so it was worth it.
Vickie Williamson, Edenton?: I got a good deal at uuuh, Bed Bath and Beyond. I used a coupon and I got a 100 dollars off my order there, so that was great.
BUT THOSE DEALS DO COME WITH A PRICE---BRAVING THE CROWDS OF HUNDREDS OF OTHERS LOOKING TO SCORE THE SAME DEAL.
Denise Harrison, Warner Robins: At Belks you could barely move, it was very crowded, people were falling over each, but they had great deals as well.
AND BLACK FRIDAY ISN'T JUST A BIG DAY FOR SHOPPERS---IT'S A HUGE DAY FOR THE STORES---
Dave Burkert, Merchandising Manager, Aeropostale: When we opened the gate at 4 am, since everybody opened at midnight, eleven, nine, what happened was we just were hammered right off the back.
FOR SOME SHOPPERS---THOSE DEALS AREN'T WORTH THE PRICE OF THE CROWDS.
Erin White, Bonaire?: A few years ago, it was worth it. The sales were a lot better. Today not really worth it.
BUT FOR HARRISON---SHE CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR.
Denise Harrison, Warner Robins: uuum, next year I'll be out 12 o'clock in the morning to get the better deals. Like that Best Buy 200 dollar 42 inch TV.

THEY SAY SEVERAL SHOPPERS FOUGHT AROUND 9-30 LAST NIGHT.... OVER ITEMS THAT WEREN'T EVEN ON SALE YET.

Lorena Hales, Coleman, Alabama: People just started grabbing items, the small appliances and throwing them across to each taking armloads when the cops come in to break it up. They were telling them it was not time to grab the stuff.
Robyn Swann, Coleman, Alabama: I mean I understand that you want to to find a good deal, that's great to save some money, but is it really worth the cost of harming you or somebody else. I don't think it is.

WARNER ROBINS POLICE HAD NO INFORMATION ON THE FIGHT....
WALMART CORPORATE SPOKESWOMAN ASHLEY HARDIE... ALSO HAD NO DETAILS.... BUT SPEAKING OF BLACK FRIDAY NATIONWIDE....SHE SAID.... QUOTE...
