TWO DORMS ARE ON LOCKDOWN TONIGHT... AFTER A MAJOR FIGHT AT TELFAIR STATE PRISON.
THAT'S ACCORDING TO STATE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS SPOKESWOMAN GWENDOLYN HOGAN.
SHE SAYS THREE INMATES WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL.
THEIR CONDITIONS AND NAMES WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
HOGAN SAYS NO STAFF MEMBERS WERE HURT..
A DISPATCHER WITH THE TELFAIR COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS THEY WERE CALLED TO ASSIST AT THE PRISON AROUND SEVEN O'CLOCK TONIGHT.
THE DODGE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE CONFIRMED THAT THEY WERE ALSO CALLED TO THE PRISON... BUT HAD NO OTHER INFORMATION.

THE CITY OF WARNER ROBINS WILL PAY FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS IN PENALITES TO THE ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION DIVISION..
THAT'S ACCORDING TO CITY COUNCILMAN BOB WILBANKS..
THE MONEY IS OWED TO THE EPD FOR REGULATION VIOLATIONS CONCERNING BAY GALL CREEK..
SEVERAL PEOPLE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE EPD AFTER THE CITY STARTED DREDGING BAY GALL CREEK IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE STORM WATER RUNOFF..
LAST APRIL THE CITY HIRED AN ENGINEERING FIRM TO HELP WORK OUT ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE EPD AND THE ARMY CORPS..
IN ADDTION TO PAYING THE FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLAR PENALTY THE CITY WILL HAVE TO PUT ITS ENGINEERS THROUGH EPD TRAINING..

SUNDAY ALCOHOL SALES WILL START SOON IN WARNER ROBINS..
AS IN THIS SUNDAY..
CITY COUNCIL VOTED FOUR TO TWO TONIGHT TO START SUNDAY SALES ON NOVEMBER 27TH ACCORDING TO COUNCILMAN BOB WILBANKS.
THE VOTE ALLOWS ALCOHOL SALES FROM 12:30 IN THE AFTERNOON UNTIL 11:30 AT NIGHT..
WARNER ROBINS VOTERS APPROVED SUNDAY ALCOHOL SALES EARLEIR THIS MONTH..

A MAN REMAINS HOSPITALIZED TONIGHT AFTER SOMEONE APPARENTLY SHOT HIM..
POLICE SPOKESWOMAN TABITHA PUGH THE MAN DROVE HIMSELF TO THE CHEVRON AT HIGHWAY 41 AND GUNN ROAD WITH A GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE CHEST..
HE WAS TAKEN TO THE MEDICAL CENTER OF CENTRAL GEORGIA.
PUGH DID NOT RELEASE THE MAN'S NAME.

MACON POLICE SAY TWO MEN WERE SHOT IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS SUNDAY.... AFTER ALLEGEDLY TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE SAME HOUSE SEVERAL HOURS APART.
THEY SAY THE SECOND SUSPECT WAS SHOT BY A POLICE OFFICER AFTER TRYING TO PUSH A TODDLER THROUGH A WINDOW.
BOTH CASES BEGAN AT 1107 HIGHTOWER DRIVE OFF PIO NONO AVENUE.
IN THE FIRST... SOMEONE TRIED TO BREAK IN AROUND 4 A-M.
POLICE SAY SOMEONE INSIDE SHOT THE INTRUDER.... AND HE RAN AWAY.
MACON POLICE SAY 17 YEAR OLD BRANDON TYLER LATER SHOWED UP AT A NEARBY KRYSTAL WITH GUNSHOT WOUNDS... AND THEY BELIEVE HE WAS THE INTRUDER.
ABOUT SEVEN HOURS LATER... SOMEONE CALLED POLICE BACK TO THE SAME HOUSE.
THEY SAY 38-YEAR-OLD GREG WILLIAMS TRIED TO ENTER BY PUSHING A TODDLER THROUGH THE WINDOW.
AN OFFICER FOLLOWED HIM TO THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR...WHERE POLICE SAY WILLIAMS GRABBED THE OFFICER'S BATON.
THE OFFICER SHOT HIM TWICE IN THE CHEST.
MACON POLICE SPOKESWOMAN JAMI GAUDET SAYS THE TODDLER WAS ON THE GROUND AND NOT IN THE LINE OF FIRE.
WILLIAMS IS IN STABLE CONDITION AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL.
MACON POLICE SAY THEY DON'T KNOW WHY THE MEN WERE TRYING TO BREAK IN.... OR IF THE CASES ARE CONNECTED.

HOURS BEFORE THEIR FIRST DEADLINE...THE CONGRESSIONAL SUPERCOMMITTEE MADE IT OFFICIAL...THEY FAILED TO AGREE ON A DEFICIT-CUTTING PLAN.
MEANWHILE... PRESIDENT OBAMA SAYS HE'LL VETO ANY EFFORT TO GET RID OF AUTOMATIC SPENDING CUTS THAT WILL TAKE EFFECT IN 2013... IF CONGRESS CAN'T FIND OTHER WAYS OF TRIMMING THE DEFICIT.
THE PANEL OF SIX REPUBLICANS AND SIX DEMOCRATS WAS ASKED TO SLASH ONE POINT TWO TRILLION DOLLARS FROM THE FEDERAL DEFICIT.
THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A DRAFT PLAN READY TODAY.
THE PANEL HAD UNTIL WEDNESDAY TO APPROVE A DEFICIT-CUTTING PLAN.
BUT TODAY...THE COMMITTEE'S LEADERS SAID THEY COULDN'T AGREE ON WHAT TO CUT....OR FIND COMMON GROUND BETWEEN DEMOCRATS WHO SAY THEY NEED TO RAISE TAXES...AND REPUBLICANS WHO WANTED TO CUT THEM FURTHER.

"A lot of my firends went to bigger colleges, but I chose a smaller one because I come from such a small school."
BUT THE SCHOOL IS GROWING.
THIS YEAR, IT'S ACCEPTED 110 MORE STUDENTS THAN LAST YEAR... ENROLLMENT IS UP FOR THE FIFTH STRAIGHT YEAR.
ROBERTS SAYS IT MAY NOT BE SUCH A BAD THING.
"The basketball games are always a lot of fun. We'll have more people coming ot sprts, greek life, things like that."
S/U "Mercer's growth over the last 5 years has also meant new construction, for example phase two of Mercer Village, Senior Vice president Larry Brumley says a growth at the University is a good thing for the community as a whole."
"To the extent that we grow in Macon, that helps the city econimically obviously but also adds to the life of the community."
WHILE THE MACON CAMPUS HAS GROWN... THE BULK OF NEW ENROLLMENTS HAS BEEN IN THE HEALTH SCIENCES PROGRAMS AT THE ATLANTA AND SAVANNAH PROGRAMS.
"Georgia ranks amont the lowest in terms of physicians per capita so this is a great need in our state to prepare more physisicans to serve Georgians and Mercer is part of the solution."
BRUMLEY SAYS THE MACON CAMPUS NOW HAS ABOUT 24 HUNDRED STUDENTS...AND HE PREDICTS THAT WILL GROW A COUPLE HUNDRED IN COMING YEARS.
BUT THE MOST DRAMATIC GOWTH WILL BE AT GRADUATE PROGRAMS ON THEIR OTHER CAMPUSES.
AND ROBERTS SAYS HE'S CONFIDENT THAT WON'T CHANGE THE COZY FEEL OF MERCER'S MACON CAMPUS.

THE BULLDOG NATION MOURNS THE LOSS OF LONG TIME ANNOUNCER LARRY MUNSON.
MUNSON'S SON SAID THE LEGENDARY BROADCASTER PASSED AWAY SUNDAY AT HIS ATHENS HOME AT THE AGE OF 89.
MUNSON STARTED IN GEORGIA'S BROADCAST BOOTH IN 1966.... AND RETIRED IN 2008.

A NEWS RELEASE FROM GUARDIAN CENTERS INCORPROATED SAID THEY BOUGHT THE FORMER NORTHROP GRUMMAN PLANT.

GEORGIA'S ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DIVISION SAYS IT HAS RE-ISSUED THE AIR PERMIT FOR PLANT WASHINGTON IN SANDERSVILLE AFTER DEVELOPERS ADDRESSED ISSUES RAISED BY A JUDGE.
ITS BACKERS HOPE TO BEGIN BUILDING IN 2012 OR 2013.
CONSTRUCTION IS EXPECTED TO TAKE FOUR YEARS AND COULD GENERATE MORE THAN 16 HUNDRED JOBS AND 250 MILLION DOLLARS IN WAGES AND BENEFITS.
ONCE COMPLETE... ITS OWNERS SAY THE PLANT COULD CREATE UP 120 FULL-TIME JOBS.
