MACON MAYOR ROBERT REICHERT GATHERED WITH SPLOST SUPPORTERS AT THE MACON-BIBB WINS HEADQUARTERS ON POPLAR STREET THIS EVENING TO WATCH ELECTION RESULTS COME IN.
HE SPOKE WITH OUR ELEANOR LISSITZYN ABOUT AN HOUR AGO... HE SAYS HE WAS SURPRISED... AND THRILLED WITH THE OVERWHELMING VOTER SUPPORT.
"This SPLOST made sense. It makes sense to let other people from outside the county help pay for some of the infrastructure that we need. More importantly, I think it's a statement by the people that they are ready to reinvest in their community."

IN WARNER ROBINS... THREE COUNCIL SEATS WERE ON THE BALLOT... INCLUDING THE POST SIX SEAT CURRENTLY HELD BY JOHN WILLIAMS.
HE FACED CHALLENGERS MICHAEL DAVIS AND NEAL ERWIN.
MIKE DAVIS IS RETIRED FROM THE WARNER ROBINS FIRE DEPARTMENT... AND NOW WORKS AS A LOCAL RADIO SPORTS BROADCASTER.
HE SAYS HE BRING HONESTY AND INTEGRITY TO WARNER ROBINS CITY COUNCIL.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY CAME TOGETHER AT DRUGSTORE DELI IN DOWNTOWN BYRON TO CELEBRATE THE VICTORY...
HE SAYS HE HAS BIG PLANS FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS... BUT GIVES CREDIT FOR HIS RE-ELECTION TO THE PEOPLE HE WORKS WITH.
Collins: " I had a worthy opponent. A good friend of mine. We're going to do great things in the next four years, but the fact that I won is not necessarily a testament to me. It's a testament to the employees of the city of byron."
COLLINS' CHALLENGER... MIKE LOVE...LOST BY LESS THAN 100 VOTES..
EVEN THOUGH THEY WEREN'T CELEBRATING A VICTORY... LOVE'S FRIENDS AND FAMILY CAME TOGETHER AS THE RESULTS CAME IN...

BOARD OF ELECTIONS SUPERVISOR ELAINE CARR SAYS THEY WON'T KNOW HOW MANY VOTES COUSINO RECIEVED... UNTIL ALL PRECINCTS REPORT.
