THE SCHOOL WENT ON LOCKDOWN AROUND 9-30 A-M WHEN THEY GOT A TIP THAT SOMEONE HAD BROUGHT A GUN INTO THE SCHOOL.
BIBB COUNTY CAMPUS POLICE FOUND THE UNLOADED GUN IN THE CEILING OF A BATHROOM.
THAT'S ACCORDING TO DISTRICT RISK MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR DAVID GOWAN.
IN A CLOSED MEETING THURSDAY AFTERNOON... SUPERINTENDENT ROMAIN DALLEMAND TOLD AMY AUBERT HOW THE SITUATION WAS HANDLED AND PRECAUTIONS THEY SHOULD TAKE.
Romain Dallemand, Superintendent: "I have two youngsters in the system, I want to make sure that they go to a school where their safety is gauranteed just like every other parent should have that gaurantee. We want for our parents to also know that they need to seal their weapons so that it's not available they're weapons are not available for students to have access. Because if a youngster brings any weapon to school, they will pay a consequence."
DALLEMAND SAYS THEY'RE LOOKING INTO WHETHER SCHOOLS NEED TO TAKE PREVENTATIVE MEASURES... LIKE METAL DETECTORS....
