A MILLEDGEVILLE FAMILY IS ASKING WHY... AFTER A 23 YEAR OLD WOMAN IS ACCUSED OF HELPING KILL HER 72-YEAR-OLD STEPFATHER.
ASHLEIGH RICKS AND HER BOYFRIEND....36-YEAR-OLD ANDRE BROWN WERE ARRESTED YESTERDAY IN MACON...AND CHARGED WITH KILLING MANDLE CHARLEY WATERS.
RICKS HALF SISTER... LYNN ANDERSON... SAYS WATERS RAISED RICKS SINCE SHE WAS A BABY... AND WOULD'VE DONE ANYTHING FOR HER.
SHE SAYS RICKS ASKED WATERS TO PICK UP HER BOYFRIEND... AND GIVE HER A RIDE HOME LAST FRIDAY... THAT'S WHEN THE ALLEGED SHOOTING HAPPENED.
SHE SAID WATERS OFTEN CARRIED LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH....AS MUCH AS 7-THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Lynn Anderson, Milledgeville: "I was her to tell me why she had to take his life. Because 7 thousand dolalrs is not worth a life. It's not. Not a Granddaddy, a Great Granddaddy, a wonderful father."
BALDWIN COUNTY SHERIFF... BILL MASSEE... SAYS THREE YEARS AGO... RICKS WAS ARRESTED ON 32 COUNTS OF DEPOSIT ACCOUNT FRAUD ... AGAINST WATERS.
ANDERSON SAYS HER STEPFATHER BAILED HER OUT THAT SAME DAY.

IT'S BEEN A MONTH SINCE EIGHT PEOPLE WERE SHOT IN MACON ON ONE NIGHT... AND POLICE SAY THEY'RE STILL LOOKING AT PEOPLE OF INTEREST.
SIX MEN WERE SHOT HERE AT THIS HOME ON BERKNER AVENUE.
THE OTHERS WERE SHOT IN DRIVE-BYS AT VINE STREET AND ELL STREET.
MACON POLICE SAY MORE THAN 100 PEOPLE WERE AT THE BERKNER HOME WHEN SHOTS RANG OUT... BUT THEY STRUGGLED TO GET INFORMATION ABOUT THE ALLEGED GUNMEN.
Lt. Carl Fletcher, Macon Police: "Not only do we have citizens who are not cooperating with police. The victims aren't cooperating with police. Out of the six people shot at that house on Berkner Ave., five of them decided not to cooperate with police. They bandaged up their injuries and went about their way."

THE REPORTS SHOWED REICHERT OUTSPENT ELLIS BY MORE THAN 2 TO 1.
THEY COVER THE ENTIRE YEAR THROUGH SEPTEMEBER 30TH AND SHOW THAT REICHERT RAISED AND SPENT MORE THAN 200 THOUSAND DOLLARS DURING HIS RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN..
ELLIS... WHO WAS MAYOR FROM 1999 TO 2007... RAISED AND SPENT MORE THAN 88 THOUSAND DOLLARS.
THE REPORTS ALSO DETAIL SPENDING AND DONATIONS BY THE CANDIDATES... STARTING WITH THE LAST SIX DAYS BEFORE THE AUGUST 16TH RUNOFF.
MORE THAN 20 THOUSAND VOTES WERE CAST IN THE RUNOFF WHERE REICHERT BEAT ELLIS BY 530 VOTES.

EIGHT TEACHERS AND THREE ADMINISTRATORS ACCUSED IN THE ATLANTA PUBLIC SCHOOLS CHEATING SCANDAL WILL LOSE THEIR TEACHING LICENSES.
