MACON POLICE SAY A SHOOTING LAST NIGHT THAT LEFT ONE MAN DEAD.. WAS NOT RANDOM.
AN AUTOPSY REVEALED 28-YEAR OLD STEPHEN JACKSON.. ALSO KNOWN AS TUCKER... DIED OF MULTIPLE GUNSHOT WOUNDS.. ACCORDING TO THE BIBB COUNTY CORONER.
BRITTINY BARBER SPOKE WITH JACKSON'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED THURSDAY NIGHT.

Darrell Isom, Grandfather: "Was my buddy, my grandson. He was my bestfriend so you know he was really the only family I have here."
DARRELL ISOM SAYS HIS GRANDSON LIVED WITH HIM.. AND HE SAW JACKSON JUST HOURS BEFORE SOME SHOT AND KILLED HIM.
Darrell: "He had just left me maybe about two hours. He came by when he got off from work. you know he was happy. Him and a friend of his had went over to the store and they had a little luck on the little lottery."
BUT JACKSON'S LUCK CHANGED WHEN HE MET UP WITH FRIENDS AT THE CORNER OF ELL AND CHAPPELL STREETS.
TRAVIS BROWN.... SAYS HE WAS THERE THURSDAY NIGHT WITH HIS FRIEND TUCKER...
Travis Brown: "He was just walking up, eating pizza and came through kicking a bobo at me... Walked down the street to hollar at some people down there."
Brittiny Barber: "Brown says he and a friend were parked along this curb on thursday night when shots rang out."
Brown: "He caught him bent over in the car like this and the window was up like this much. the window got sprayed out so I don't know where the shot came from."
BROWN SAYS HE AND HIS FRIEND RAN FROM THE VEHICLE AS BULLETS FLEW...
HE SAYS HE THINKS THE GUNMAN MUST HAVE TARGETED JACKSON... AND MACON POLICE AGREE.
Brown: "It was somebody from around here that knows him... He was hiding over there. He came from somewhere over there cause we were watching the streets and we didn't see no body come up."

MACON-BIBB FIRE CHIEF MARVIN RIGGINS UPHELD HIS DECISION TODAY TO DEMOTE CAPTAIN STEPHANIE BURKE TO LIEUTENANT... AND SUSPEND HER FOR SIXTY DAYS... AS A RESULT OF A FIRE HOUSE HOAX THAT WAS POSTED TO YOUTUBE.
THAT'S ACCORDING TO MAYORAL SPOKESMAN CLAY MURPHEY.

MURPHEY SAYS BURKE FAILED TO PROVIDE ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO CONVINCE CHIEF RIGGINS SHE DIDN'T HAVE PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRANK.
HE SAYS CHIEF RIGGINS BELIEVES BURKE KNEW ENOUGH TO KEEP IT FROM HAPPENING.

A 64-YEAR-OLD MAN DIED AFTER HE WAS HIT BY A CAR IN WARNER ROBINS THIS MORNING.
POLICE SPOKESWOMAN TABITHA PUGH SAYS JAMES CORBEIL WAS WALKING ON RUSSELL PARKWAY WHEN A CAR HIT HIM AROUND 6-30.
PUGH SAYS 28-YEAR-OLD BRIAN ANTONIO WAS DRIVING THAT CAR.
CORBEIL WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE HOSPITAL.
THE ACCIDENT IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION.

THE WARNER ROBINS POLICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS MORE OFFICERS ON THE STREETS.
POLICE CHIEF BRETT EVANS SAYS THEY'RE SHORT A DOZEN SWORN OFFICERS... AND EVEN IN TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES... HIRING HAS GOTTEN HARDER.

EACH TEACHER-LED GROUP WILL RECEIVE A MILLION DOLLARS IN TOP OF THE LINE ENGINEERING SOFTWARE TO DESIGN THEIR OWN AIRCRAFT.
CAGLE SAYS HE HOPES THE PROGRAM WILL GET MORE CHILDREN INVOLVED IN SCIENCE... TECHNOLOGY... ENGINEERING AND MATH INDUSTRIES.

"The number one reason kids drop out of school is they don't see the relevance in what they're learning. And what we're able to do with this real world design challange is to take kids and show them relevence in education."
