President Obama set out to sell his jobs plan AGAIN Wednesday...

(SOT: President Obama)
"So what this jobs bill does, is it cuts taxes for small businesses that hire new employees."

It was his fifth speech in seven days...this time in North Carolina where he also toured a small plant located in Republican Representative Renee Ellmers district.

:22 - :25
(SOT: REP. RENEE ELLMERS / R - NORTH CAROLINA) - "HIS POLICIES ARE FAILURES, THEY FAILED IN THE PAST, THEY'LL FAIL IN THE FUTURE."

:26 - :42
(Standup Bridge: Danielle Nottingham/CBS News/Washington, D.C.)
"New poll numbers show -- a majority of voters agree. A Bloomberg survey found 51 percent of Americans don't think the President's jobs package will bring the unemployment rate down and 72 percent think the country is headed in the wrong direction."

Add to that, victories for Republicans in two special elections.
One in Nevada and the other in a New York district where Democratic voters outnumber Republicans 3 to 1.

(SOT/VOTER) "I voted for him because it was against Obama."

Republicans haven't held the seat in nearly a century.

1:00 - 1:07
(SOT: Rep. Bob Turner/New York's 9th District - R)
"It's people like me who got off their couch who said, I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."

The White House and Democrats waved off the defeats...saying a special election is indicative of nothing.

1:14 - 1:16
(SOT: Nancy Pelosi/House Minority Leader - D)
"Don't read too much into it."

But the Republican winners from both New York and Nevada further strengthen the GOP's control in the House of Representatives.

They'll get to vote on the President's jobs plan...and the President will need some support from Republicans if he wants a shot at turning around the economy.
