Herrington: "we basically have about $300-350 an acre in every of cotton. If you only make $100 lbs and it's bringing a dollar to a $1.20 at the most that's pretty queasy math."

HERRINGTON SAYS HE ONLY IRRIGATES ABOUT 13-HUNDRED... AND THAT'S WHERE THEY'LL SEE SOME BIG LOSSES THIS YEAR.
Herrington: "I would say as a whole, we're probably looking at about 40 percent of what potentially we could have."
PRODUCTION LOSSES LIKE THAT... LED THE -U-S SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE TO DECLARE A NATURAL DISASTER... AND PROVIDE EMERGENCY LOANS TO FARMERS.
Brittiny BArber: "the disaster declaration covers about 150 ga counties and this dry dusk and small cotton plants are proof of just how big of an impact the drought has had in the state."
Judson Herrington, Twiggs County Farmer: "I don't hardly know of anyone who hasn't been impactED by this. you have different areas that may have gotten a different shower or two a pop up shower but it's pretty much across the board."
WITH THIS SEASON WINDING DOWN... HERRINGTON SAYS THEY'LL PUT THE CROP LOSSES FROM THIS YEAR IN THE PAST... AND LOOK TOWARD NEXT YEAR.
Herrington: "With farming I've always been told they're never two years that are alike so you cant' spend the next year trying to correct this years problems, because this years problem may be only unique to this year."
