AFTER TWO DECADES AS A STATE SENATOR... MAYORAL CANDIDATE ROBERT BROWN CAME IN A DISTANT THIRD IN THE MAYORS RACE THIS EVENING.
A HANDFUL OF SUPPORTERS CAME OUT TO MOUNT ZION HILL BAPTIST CHURCH WHERE BROWN HAS ATTENDED FOR THIRTY YEARS.
BROWN RAN A CAMPAIGN BASED ON FIGHTING CRIME IN MACON.

HE SAYS HE STANDS BY HIS CONVICTIONS AND HOPES THE NEXT MAYOR GIVES THE ISSUE SOME ATTENTION.
Robert Brown, Mayoral Candidate I'm hoping that someone will take that banner up unless we do our community will continue to corrode. Our young people will be in situations they should not be in but the people have spoken and I never argue with what they speak about."
ROBERT BROWN SERVED NINE FULL TERMS AS A STATE SENATOR AND PART OF A TENTH.
HE GAVE UP HIS SEAT TO RUN FOR THE MACON MAYORAL POSITION.
READ LEADER RESULTS OFF SCREEN
ELAINE LUCAS WAS GLUED TO HER COMPUTER SCREEN FOR MUCH OF THE NIGHT MONITORING THE RESULTS.
SHE SAYS IT WAS THE MOST CHALLENGING RACE SHE'S EVER RAN.
"It's tough! It was the toughest one. It is really the toughest one that i've had and of course it was close and I think I have ot give a lot of credit to Chris Horne. He does have a following. He does have folks ho obviously belive in his message and I think any wise person would start listening a little bit more to the folks who have a strong message and they have sent a strong message so, I'm willing ot work as I said all thorugh the campaign, I'd like for him to join with me and helping to implement not only the priorities of the people but also the ones that I have and the ones that he has."
OTHER COUNCIL RACES TONIGHT...STAY WITH US... WE'LL HAVE MORE OF YOUR ELECTION COVERAGE AFTER THE BREAK.
