THIS COMES AFTER HE WAS ACCIDENTALLY SHOT IN THE CHEST BY ANOTHER CHILD.
THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS THE CHILD WAS PLAYING WITH THE GUN WHEN IT WENT OFF.... KILLING ARSHONTAY JAMES.
BRITTINY BARBER SPOKE WITH FAMILY MEMBERS WHO SAY THE CASE SHOULD BE A WARNING TO OTHERS.

Brittiny Barber, Eyewitness News " The shooting happened at this home on Soperton hwy around 9:45 Friday morning... and the homeowner says she didn't even know a gun was in her house."
Erica Stidhum: "All I know is my cousin... the mother of him is, she's not talking to anybody. She's down, but it's not her fault. I didn't know a gun was in my house. I would not ever let somebody come in my house with a gun."
STIDHUM SAYS A FRIEND OF JAMES' MOTHER... BROUGHT THE HAND GUN OVER.
Sheriff Jeff Hinson, dodge COunty: "It was supposedly his gun, by his own admission, but we're still investigating that part to make sure."

THE SHERIFF SAYS FOUR ADULTS AND FIVE KIDS WERE HOME WHEN THE SHOOTING HAPPENED...
Sheriff Jeff Hinson, dodge COunty: "At this point it is an accidental shooting , but we're still doing some investigating. We want to make sure that we don't leave any rocks unturned."

THE FIRE DAMAGED THE ENTIRE STORE.
EMPLOYEE SAM BLASH WAS WORKING WHEN THE FIRE STARTED.
HE SAYS HE NEVER SAW ANY FLAMES... BUT BURNING ATTIC INSULATION CAUSED HEAVY SMOKE.
BLASH SAYS HE WAS BURNING BOXES OUT BACK THAT AFTERNOON.
LORD SAYS THEY'RE NOT POSITIVE WHAT STARTED THE FIRE... BUT HE SAYS IT COULD BE LINKED TO BURNING TRASH.

Fire Chief Glenn Lords: "Could have been an aerosol can went up against the side it was wood inside and it went up against the wall into the attic."
Sam Blash: "I got a customer and I came around front and about five or six minutes later this guy came by and he turned in here and said your building's on fire.

LUCAS CALLED IT PUNISHMENT FOR NOT SUPPORTING ALL OF THE MAYOR'S DECISIONS.
Elaine Lucas, City Council Ward 1 Post 3: It's very clear to me and to anyone who has kept up with this that the present mayor, Mayor Reichert, and the Republican Party are the ones who have initiated and or are supporting this candidate against me. What they want to do is remove the people's candidate from office.
